Les Ombrages de l'Adour campsite is within easy reach of the Pyrenees, the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, Spain and the Gers. Rich in history, Aire sur l'Adour is a stopover on the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela (GR65). The region, renowned for its gentle way of life, offers a rich and varied heritage.

**Aire sur l'Adour

The town has many tourist attractions, including its heritage, gastronomy, festive traditions and numerous sporting and cultural activities. Take a stroll around the town and discover the Cathedral of Saint-Jean-Baptiste (a historic monument) and its museum; the Church of Sainte Quitterie (a UNESCO-listed monument), a stage on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela; the arena where the Landes races and bullfights are held. Guided tours from June to September. The covered market in Aire sur Adour is open on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

Using a free application on your smartphone, these treasure hunts will help you discover the region. Along the way, you'll find riddles to help you learn more about local history. Two 3km routes from Aire sur l'Adour: "En tête-à-tête avec Quitterie" and "Sorcières sur l'Adour".

Activities around the Adour (a Natura 2000 listed river): hiking (numerous itineraries available), canoeing, paddleboat hire, etc.

The spa village of Eugénies les Bains* (in French)

This small village of 500 souls in the heart of the Tursan region is home to a spa (restaurant run by one of France's greatest chefs, Michel Guérard, with 3 Michelin stars). A discovery tour is available to find out all about the resort, as well as events from March to November.
