HALLES DE ROHAN PLACE DU MARTRAY, ROHAN Dismantled in 1947 despite its inclusion in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments, the Rohan grain market was used as an agricultural shed in a neighbouring commune for around fifty years. Uprooted and forgotten by almost everyone, it was saved after a major restoration. After 60 years in exile, the covered market once again stands proudly in the heart of Rohan. An emblematic building in the town's history, it once again provides an exceptional, friendly setting for the weekly market dedicated to local produce, held every Sunday morning. A project for a semi-night market during the summer is currently being studied, and we're sure it will be a great success!

NOTRE-DAME DE BONNE ENCONTRE CHAPEL 1 RUE DU POINT DU JOUR, ROHAN
Built in 1510 and listed as a Historic Monument in 1922, the Chapel under the protection of Notre Dame de Bonne Encontre is the architectural jewel in the crown of Rohan. Built by Jean II de Rohan to replace the old chapel of the first castle dating from 1104, it retains an inscription of its foundation engraved on a stone on the south façade. The exterior of the building gives an impression of solidity due to the walls reinforced with buttresses. The interior is worth a look for its vaulted ceiling, supported by ribbed crossbeams set into engaged columns, and for its framework, which gives the illusion of a ship's hull. The keystones are decorated with the Rohan coat of arms. The patron saint of the church is represented here in the form of the Virgin and Child. Also of note is the Rohan coat of arms, composed of six maces, part Rohan, and two ermines, part Brittany, recalling the union of Jean II de Rohan with Marie de Bretagne, daughter of François 1ᵉʳ Duke of Brittany. The renovation of this chapel continues. After the exteriors completed in 1998 and 2008, the chapel has had a set of new stained glass windows since spring 2009.
